The good news is that health checks don’t take long and needn’t be expensive. The even better news is that early screening can save lives, which is why increasing numbers of women are opting to undergo an annual health check.

What is included in the Well Woman Check?
Our state-of-the-art screening technology can spot warning signs of cervical cancer, breast disease and pelvic disorders.
We offer three comprehensive health screens:
Level 1 – Recommended for women up to 40 years
- History
- Blood pressure and weight (Body Mass Index [ BMI ] provided)
- Examination of breast, abdomen and pelvic organs
- Transvaginal scan
- Full blood count
- Liver and kidney function
- Lipid profile
Cost: £320
Level 2 – Recommended for women between 40 to 50 years
All the features of Level 1 (see above) and:
- CA 125 for ovarian screen
Cost: £420
Level 3: Recommended for women above 50 years
All the features of Level 1 (see above) and:
- CA 125 for ovarian screen
- Breast mammogram

Cervical cancer screen
There is no doubt now that regular cervical screen saves lives. We offer two types of cervical screening:
- TruScreen with immediate results and
- Thin prep screen
Each tests has a sensitivity of about 70 % to pick up abnormal cells but when combined together the sensitivity is about 94%.
Cost: £130 (includes both TruScreen and Thin prep)
Ovarian cancer screen
Ovarian cancer is more common after 40 years of age. With the aid of transvaginal ultrasound and a blood test it is now possible to visualize ovarian cysts and predict cancer early.
Cost: £260 (includes transvaginal ultrasound and CA 125 blood test)
At the Gynae Centre we offer comprehensive sexual health screens for both men and women.
Mini sexual health screen to check for:
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhea
- HIV
Cost: £135
Full sexual health screen to check for:
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhea
- HIV
- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis C
- Syphilis
Cost: £320
The results are usually available within 48 hours and will be sent via email to you with a short note from the consultant. A follow-up consultation is only necessary if any of the tests are abnormal. This is to explain the abnormality and give you a suitable treatment.
Fertility screen
A fertility screen involves an ultrasound scan to check antral follicle count and the level of Antimullerian hormone. The results will be sent to you directly with a simple explanation from the consultant about your fertility level.
