Labial reduction

Some women are born with excessively large labia’s which may interfere with intercourse or lead to discomfort when wearing trousers. Several operations have been designed in order to reduce size of the labia preserving its natural shape. This is usually done under general anaesthesia as day surgery. Most women can go home the same day and resume normal activity after 7 days.

Vaginal repair

Many women find that the vagina becomes wider following childbirth to an extent that it may interfere with enjoyment during intercourse. Although pelvic exercises are helpful for the vagina to regain its tone, many women find exercises difficult and take long to achieve the desirable effect.

The consultant at the Gynae centre will be happy to discuss and explain how vaginal repair is carried out to tighten the vagina to allow more intimate contact with the partner. Vaginal repair is a relatively minor operation under anaesthesia and involves one night stay in hospital.
